Audio Streaming and Radio

Audio streaming and radio broadcasting is a popular way of sharing the excitement of your sporting event with your fans, fans of your sport and others.

Audio streaming has some advantages over video streaming, it does not require the same level of technology. Specifically, it is normally a simple setup of a commentator on site with some simple audio equipment. Broadcast over internet is easily achievable, even with nothing more than a mobile phone for internet connection.

FM Broadcasting can be used to share the expert commentary with the fans in venue, be that with individual FM receivers or via FM receivers connected to speakers in seating area.

Running a competition? You most likely want to borrow the Olympic Broadcasting Service model; this is having two commentators. The first is an experienced commentator who “anchors” the broadcast, then a expert from your sport/club who provides specialist knowledge.
