Using generic systems like eventbrite for entry management is possible, though often sport specific systems of custom systems work better generally. It depends a lot on what your sport uses and requires and what your budget and level is.
For example, in Martial arts there are a number of free and paid solutions, which one to use depends a lot on the size of your event and your budget. Do you need integration with TV graphics? Do you need information displays in the venue?
